Job Summary
The production planning coordinator is responsible for managing production work orders to meet customer delivery requirements as well as managing inventory levels and accuracy.
Duties and Responsibilities (Essential functions of the position)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Problems are unique and not readily identifiable but are similar to those previously encountered. Solutions require judgment such as setting priorities, evaluating results and/or coordinating with others. Solutions can be found by using methods chosen in previous similar situations.
Work Complexity
Tasks are multiple and diverse with some interrelationships across processes. Work requires the direct application of a variety of procedures, policies and/or precedents. Performs duties within scope of general policies, procedures and objectives with minimal supervision. Refers exceptions to supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities (Essential functions of the position)
- Create production orders for the shop floor through the Production Manager and Supervisors and make sure all information is correct
- Close production orders when finished in shop and make sure the materials used are accurate.
- Use MRP to anticipate work order creation
- Work with other employees to train them in work order and inventory policies & procedures
- Work closely with Production to keep all BOM data accurate and updated. Communicates changes that are needed to supervisor for approval.
- Do counts on any items that people may have a question on to make sure the system is accurate with what we have physically on hand
- Perform and reconcile cycle counts to keep the system inventory accurate. Communicate large discrepancies to supervisor for approval.
- Strictly follow safety policies, procedures, rules and safe work methods, along with making safety suggestions to support continuous improvements in safety
- Contribute to the continuous improvement culture
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Should have knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Should have knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 or other ERP systems
- Should have experience with production and inventory movement & tracking
- Must be able to count and do basic math accurately and be able to transfer the information into the system correctly
- Must have Analytical, Organizational and Problem-solving skills
- Must be able to accurately use computer programs that are needed to complete tasks
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize them; Should be able to work independently
- Must be able to communicate with persons in many different situations
- Must have a general office working knowledge of phones, computers and other machines needed to have a productive day and assist others
