CNC Operator - Aluminum, Day Shift

Job Summary:

Responsible for programming, setting up and operating a CNC machine, maintaining equipment, adhering to quality and safety standards, and keeping detailed part records. 

You will be responsible for:

• Strictly follow safety policies, procedures, rules and safe work methods, along with making safety suggestions to support continuous improvements in safety 

• Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc.  

• Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function  

• Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines  

• Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications  

• Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts  

• Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce better results  

• Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly  

• Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality 

• Advise the maintenance department or supervisor of any machine issues, crashes, or needed repairs. 

• Independently operate CNC equipment and observe operations with focused attention. 

• Perform tool wear offsets or change inserts to meet tolerance requirements 

• Do Programming 

• Regular and reliable attendance 

• Working cooperatively with others to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly targets 

• Contribute to continuous improvement culture 

• Other duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications:

• Detail oriented and an effective time manager 

• Individual shall possess average written and oral communication skills 

• Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and (software) 

• A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach  

• Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings  

• Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools  

• Ability to perform basic mathematical computations including the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, geometry & trigonometry to practical situations 

• Ability to meet production goals for quality and quantity 

• Complete work orders accurately 

• Forklift certification 

• Clear, effective communication

Nights:

Monday-Thursday, 4:30 pm to 3 am plus o.t. on Fridays
